Queen’s representative visits Retrogenix
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire, who serves as the Queen’s representative in the county, has officially presented a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise to staff at Retrogenix.
Mr William Tucker, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Jill Tucker, visited the company’s main laboratories in Whaley Bridge last week. During a short ceremony, Mr Tucker read from the Grant of Appointment before formally presenting it to members of the Retrogenix team, along with a commemorative blue crystal chalice.
Mr Tucker noted that, over the eight year period of his lieutenancy, only two Derbyshire companies had received multiple Queen’s Awards – Retrogenix and Rolls Royce.
Retrogenix co-founder, Dr Jim Freeth, then gave a brief update on Retrogenix’s progress since Mr Tucker’s last visit and thanked the whole team for their contributions to the outstanding growth in international trade which prompted the latest award.
Retrogenix will hold the current Queen’s Award for Innovation until April 2020 and the Queen’s Award for International Trade until April 2022. Find out more.
